April 27- May 1, 2017 Smithsonian Craft Show We were delighted to be juried into our fifth consecutive Smithsonian Craft Show, April 27- May 1, 2017. The Smithsonian Bump truly gave us a springboard into national awareness of our work. Surrounded by such stellar artists, winning the Silver Award for Overall Excellence in the 2016 show was a complete surprise. The Gala Opening is a ticketed event supporting the mission of the Smithsonian on Wednesday, April 26, 5-9:30pm. More info on tickets will be up soon on the Smithsonian Craft Show site.
Saturday, March 4, 3-5pm The Española Valley Fiber Arts Center, a vibrant hub for textile artists in the area welcomed us with open arms last year. We appreciate their hosting of our event and introducing us to the nearby Mesa Prieta Petroglyph Project. The power of standing in the midst of these sacred marks is as astounding as the effort to preserve and protect them. On our trip we will be looking for like minded weavers to expand our Legacy Project apprentice work and deepen our connection to the rich weaving heritage of the Southwest.
